About Clarity — Terms & Conditions Summarizer
Nobody reads the terms. Clarity reads them for you.
Click the icon on any terms of service, privacy policy, EULA, or cookie policy and get:
• A plain-language summary — the sentences that actually matter, pulled verbatim from the page
• Risk flags — forced arbitration, class action waivers, data selling, auto-renewal, broad content licenses, and more, each explained in one sentence
• A readability score — how hard the document is, and how long it will take to read
• A jargon glossary — "indemnify", "hold harmless", "perpetual license", translated
• Works on PDFs too — open a terms PDF in Chrome and click the icon
EVERYTHING RUNS ON YOUR DEVICE
No account. No API key. No servers. Nothing you read is ever sent anywhere — your browsing stays in your browser. The extension can only read a page at the moment you click the icon. (For PDFs, it re-downloads the PDF you are viewing, from its own address, to read it locally.)
SUMMARIES YOU CAN TRUST
Clarity never paraphrases. Every line it shows is a verbatim sentence from the page you are reading. A reworded contract clause can mean the opposite of the original — "we may not share your data" versus "we may share your data" — and you would have no way to catch it. Extraction keeps every claim traceable.
IT KNOWS WHEN A POLICY IS BEING REASSURING
"We do not sell your personal information" contains every keyword of a data-selling clause while promising the opposite. Clarity detects negation and reports it as a reassurance, not a risk — and recognizes when a clause is softened by a notice period or an opt-out.
HOW TO USE IT
Click the toolbar icon on any legal page or PDF. Or select any block of text, right-click, and choose "Summarize selected terms with Clarity".
NOT LEGAL ADVICE
Clarity is a reading aid. Pattern matching finds common clause families, not every possible risk, and a low score is not a clean bill of health. Scanned PDFs (images of text) can't be read. For anything consequential, read the document — Clarity is designed to tell you which parts deserve that attention.
