About CiteFinder
CiteFinder helps you find research you can actually cite, without leaving the page you are working on.
Type a keyword in the side panel. CiteFinder searches open scholarly databases and ranks what comes back by how credible and how current it is, not just how well the words match. Every result shows you why it ranked where it did.
HOW THE RANKING WORKS
Every paper is scored on five things: how well it matches your words, how often it has been cited, how quickly those citations are still arriving, the standing of the journal it appeared in, and how recently it was published. Open any result and you can read that breakdown line by line. If you disagree with the balance, you can change the weighting yourself, or sort purely by date or by citation count instead.
WHAT YOU GET
- Keyword search over open scholarly databases, with your own free API key if you have one
- A transparent score on every result, so you can judge the ranking instead of trusting it
- Filters for year, document type, open access and minimum citations
- Links to the publisher and to a free full text wherever one exists
- Formatted references in the common academic styles, and export files your reference manager can read
- A personal library with collections, tags and notes
- Search history you can re-run with one click
If you already have a research database open in another tab, CiteFinder notices what you were searching for there and offers to run the same search, so you do not have to retype it.
ENGLISH AND VIETNAMESE
The whole interface is available in both and switches instantly from a button in the panel header. CiteFinder always starts in English, whatever your browser language is.
PRIVACY
There is no CiteFinder server. No analytics, no telemetry, no remote code, no advertising. Only your query and your filters are sent to the scholarly databases. If you add your own API key it stays on your device and is never synced, logged or exported.
HONEST ABOUT METRICS
CiteFinder never invents numbers. Read counts and view counts are not available from open scholarly APIs, so they are not shown.
