Chrome Brightness Reducer Extension lets you dim each website to a comfortable level directly from the toolbar. Adjust brightness instantly with a slider from 0 to 100%, or choose a preset: 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%. Each website's setting is saved on your device and restored when you return or reload the page. Features - Live brightness adjustment without an OK button. - A separate saved brightness level for each website. - 100% keeps the original brightness; 0% makes the page fully dark. - The dimming layer lets clicks and scrolling pass through. - Interface available in English, Thai, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and German. How to use 1. Open a website. 2. Click the extension icon in the Chrome toolbar. 3. Drag the slider or choose a preset. The change takes effect immediately. Privacy Website hostnames and their brightness settings are stored only in chrome.storage.local on your device. The extension does not send this data to servers and has no analytics or tracking. No account is required. Compatibility Works on normal HTTP and HTTPS websites. Chrome does not allow extensions to modify protected pages such as chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store. This extension dims webpage content; it does not change your monitor's hardware brightness. What's new in version 1.4.1 - Set one daily brightness schedule for your selected website scope, using device time. Choose Balanced, Gentle or Night Owl, or customize 2–8 start times. - Adjust brightness temporarily from the popup until the next scheduled time, or resume the schedule immediately. - Clearer green On / red Off status, confirmation messages and animated schedule changes. Turning scheduling off restores saved manual levels. - Equal-sized preset cards with icons and a selected checkmark. Save is available only when there are unsaved changes; saving and switching the schedule on/off are separate actions. - Preview the manual brightness on a sample webpage in Settings. While scheduling is on, this slider saves the level to use when scheduling is off. - Fixed the narrow toolbar popup layout and added the installed version to the Settings header. Schedule settings and temporary adjustment times stay on your device. Scheduling is off by default. Updates may be delayed while Chrome or the device is inactive.
