ChessNavio

ChessNavio puts a chess engine next to the board instead of in another tab. When it is your move, the extension reads the position from the page and shows one clear recommendation: an arrow on the board, a short reason for the move, and a few alternative lines if you want to compare them. WHAT IT DOES • Shows a suggested move next to the board while you play • Explains the idea behind the move in one short line • Offers alternative lines so you can compare plans • Reviews a finished game from its PGN record • Three strength modes, from a human-like move to the strongest one available WHERE IT WORKS Lichess, Chess.com, World Chess and Chess King are supported out of the box. Any other site can be connected manually from the toolbar button — the extension asks for access to that site only when you click it. HOW IT RUNS • Stockfish 18 and the Maia neural network are bundled inside the extension • All analysis runs on your own computer • Positions and games are never sent to a server • Game history stays in your browser • No remotely hosted code is downloaded or executed ACCOUNT AND PRICING The extension is free to install. Hints during a live game require a ChessNavio account; the first three games are free and no card is needed. Longer access is sold on the ChessNavio website, not through the Chrome Web Store. RESPONSIBLE USE Many chess sites restrict outside assistance in rated games against other people. ChessNavio shows a reminder where this applies.
