About CheckMate: AI Fact Checker with Real Sources

Misinformation now moves faster than anyone can check it. CheckMate puts a fact-checker one right-click away, wherever you read. Highlight a claim on any page, right-click, and pick "Fact-check with CheckMate." A verdict appears in the side panel beside what you're reading — no new tabs, no copy-pasting into a chatbot, no losing your place. WHY CHECKMATE IS DIFFERENT ★ Real sources, never invented ones Most AI tools will happily fabricate a citation that looks convincing and leads nowhere. CheckMate takes its sources from Google Search results directly — the AI is never asked to produce a URL, so it cannot invent one. If a claim turns up no supporting sources at all, CheckMate says so and refuses to give you a confident verdict. ★ Verdicts with nuance Real claims are rarely simply true or false. CheckMate distinguishes between Likely true, Likely false, Partly true, Misleading (technically accurate but creates a false impression), and Not enough evidence — plus a confidence score, so you know how sure it actually is. ★ Claim-by-claim breakdown Paste a whole paragraph and CheckMate separates out each distinct factual claim and judges them individually, so a mostly-true statement with one false detail doesn't get waved through. ★ It cannot read your browsing CheckMate has no permission to read the pages you visit and no content script. It only ever sees text you deliberately select and send. Your check history is stored on your own device, never on our servers. ★ Works everywhere you read News articles, social media, forums, PDFs in the browser, research papers, your group chat's latest "did you know" — if you can select the text, you can check it. HOW IT WORKS 1. Select any claim on any page 2. Right-click and choose "Fact-check with CheckMate" 3. Read the verdict, the reasoning, and the sources — right beside the page You can also open the side panel and type or paste a claim directly. PRICING 20 free checks every month, no account and no card required. The free allowance resets on the 1st. Need more? • Starter Pack — 50 checks, $4.99, one-time purchase • Power Pack — 150 checks, $11.99, one-time purchase • Unlimited — $10/month, cancel anytime Credit packs are one-time purchases, not subscriptions, and credits never expire. Your free monthly allowance keeps refilling either way, and is always used before your paid credits. PRIVACY No ads. No trackers. No analytics SDKs. We never sell your data.
