About Cairune
Cairune keeps what matters on the web, right here on your computer. This extension is the perfect companion to the Cairune desktop application: it sends you exactly what you choose to save, and nothing else.
Circle to save
Press Alt+Shift+C, or select "Circle" in the extension, then use your mouse to circle what you want to save: a video, an image, a passage, a link, or a post. If multiple items are under your circle, Cairune will ask you which one to keep and will show you where a link leads before saving it. You can also use the keyboard: Tab navigates the screen, Enter saves, and Esc cancels.
Save the page or a selection
From the extension's button, save the entire page, or the text you've selected along with the surrounding passage.
Open in Cairune
Once the item is saved, "Open in Cairune" displays it in your Library. If it's already there, Cairune tells you rather than keeping it twice.
Sites Read Well
On social networks and video sites, Cairune recognizes a post or a video as such. Everywhere else, it recognizes videos, pictures, links and articles.
Local, and only when you ask
• The extension only communicates with the Cairune application on this computer, at the local address 127.0.0.1. No remote servers, no accounts, no usage statistics.
• Nothing is read or sent until you take action. No scripts run on your pages: the extension waits for your shortcut or click.
• Only what you choose is sent, and only to your application.
To Get Started
1. Install Cairune on your computer (Windows or Linux): https://cairune.com.
2. In Cairune, open Settings, then General. Under Browser Extension, choose "Link a browser".
3. Click on the extension and enter the displayed code.
The extension requires the Cairune desktop application to be open on the same computer; without it, it cannot save anything.
