Booktol Niche helps self-publishers and authors evaluate book niches while browsing supported Amazon retail pages. DATA USE AT A GLANCE On supported Amazon pages, Booktol Niche reads publicly visible listing data such as ASIN, rank, category, price, rating, and reviews. Public ASIN/category identifiers and refreshed public rank results may be sent to Booktol's shared cache so users do not repeat the same lookup. These requests omit Amazon cookies, login/session credentials, and the full page URL. Optional Pro sends the current ASIN/search phrase and public listing metrics when you open keyword research. For signed-in Pro users, hovering over or focusing a book’s Keywords button can preload that book’s research to reduce waiting. Pause them in Privacy & data. “+” means Amazon reports “over”; blocked checks never become zero • Separately opt into shared keyword discovery: finalized Booktol searches, submitted Amazon book searches (Books department or explicit book terms), and Booktol idea clicks contribute phrase, marketplace and event type • A random installation permission supports deduplication and deletion; no Booktol identity, email, Amazon cookie or page URL is attached • Server-side raw query events are encrypted and removed by the next daily purge after 400 days; a submitted phrase can appear publicly as a Booktol suggestion after five distinct unexpired version-two or version-three installation permissions support it (not verified unique people). Clicks alone never publish a phrase • New version-three sharing also contributes up to twelve public Amazon autocomplete/related phrases and fresh competitor samples after a submitted book search. Encrypted batches are verified in the background: independently public Amazon phrases can enter the library; arbitrary query echoes cannot. Saved Amazon counts require the server's matching result-header check, show source/check time, expire after thirty minutes and are not monthly volume. Server queues/receipts expire after twenty-four hours; processed/failed payloads are erased earlier. Previous consent does not enable this new collection • After sharing consent, up to 100 minimal finalized payloads can wait as plaintext in Chrome storage for delivery. Upload eligibility expires after twenty-four hours and expired entries are pruned on the next extension wake. Alarms/startup/online triggers resume bounded retries; locally queued does not mean server-saved. Sign-in credentials are entered only on extension-owned pages and sent securely to Booktol for authentication; passwords are never stored by the extension.
