The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About BlurCast – Blur screen regions for recording
Blur any part of your screen — in real time, right where you work.
BlurCast lets you drag a box over anything on a web page and instantly blur it: API keys, emails, customer names, invoice numbers, private messages. Keep working, keep recording — the blur stays put.
★ Works where other blur tools fail
Most blur extensions hook into page elements (the DOM), so they break on canvas-based apps. BlurCast paints the blur on top of the screen, so it works on Google Docs, Notion, Figma, and other canvas apps that competitors simply can't cover.
★ Survives page refresh
Reload the tab and your blurred regions come right back — no need to redraw them every time. Set it once, record as many takes as you want.
★ Built for real-time screen recording
Perfect for tutorial videos, product demos, screenshots, and live screen sharing on Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, or Loom. Whatever you record or share, the sensitive parts stay hidden.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Click the toolbar icon → "Use on this site."
2. Turn on edit mode and drag to draw a blur region.
3. Drag the body to move it, grab a corner handle to resize, double-click to delete.
4. Press Alt+Shift+B to toggle all blurs on or off.
5. Refresh anytime — your regions are restored automatically.
PRIVACY FIRST — NO SERVER, NO ACCOUNT
BlurCast runs entirely on your own machine. There is no backend, no account, and no cloud sync. Your blur positions are saved only in your browser's local storage — never uploaded anywhere. And instead of demanding access to every site up front, BlurCast only asks for permission on the sites you actually turn it on.
GREAT FOR
• YouTubers & course creators recording tutorials
• Technical writers capturing clean screenshots
• Anyone screen-sharing sensitive data in meetings
• Demos where real customer data must stay private
KNOWN LIMITATIONS (we'd rather be upfront)
• Covers web page content only — not the browser's address bar or other desktop apps (the same applies to every browser-based blur tool).
• Blur can't cover "top-layer" elements the browser always draws on top, such as native <dialog> boxes and popovers.
• Blurs are hidden while an element is in native fullscreen (for example, a fullscreen video).
