Blackbar makes this clear and indicates when a screenshot is safely redacted using permanent black bars. Every exported image is flattened, removing editable layers and stripping metadata before it leaves your device. Minimal permissions Blackbar only accesses the tab you choose, only after you activate it. It does not request permission to read and change data on every website you visit. Honest limitations Chrome does not allow extensions to capture protected pages such as the Chrome Web Store, Settings, or the New Tab page. For those, simply take a normal system screenshot and paste it into Blackbar. Blackbar also cannot detect text that exists only inside images, videos, or canvas elements.
