The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Better DnD Beyond Search
Better DnD Beyond Search is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Wizards of the Coast or D&D Beyond.
Press one key on any D&D Beyond page and search spells, feats, equipment, and monsters in a single list. Pick a result and it opens in a new tab, beside the page you were reading.
WHAT IT DOES
- One search across spells, feats, all equipment, and monsters, so a half-remembered name does not first have to be sorted into a category.
- Results match what your account can open: the books you own, your subscription, and the content your DM shares with your campaign.
- Searching is instant, because it runs on your own machine. Nothing is fetched while you type.
- Nothing you search or read leaves your browser. There is no account to make, no server, and no analytics.
BEFORE YOU INSTALL
You need a D&D Beyond account. Sign in at dndbeyond.com first. Search covers the spells, feats, equipment, and monsters your account can see.
This reads D&D Beyond through APIs they don't officially support, and they can change them at any time. If that happens, search keeps working on what it already downloaded. It just stops picking up new books.
Searching uses your own signed-in D&D Beyond account. D&D Beyond has never acted against anyone for using a tool like this, but their terms would let them. Use it at your own risk.
HOW IT WORKS
The first time you open a D&D Beyond page after installing, the extension downloads the names and details of everything your account can see and keeps them on your machine. That takes a while, and it happens once. Now and then an extension update has to rebuild it, and search says so when that happens. Open search while it runs and it shows you how far along it is. After that, searching is instant, and the list refreshes about once a month.
