Barcodegen generates barcodes and QR codes entirely inside your browser. The encoders ship with the extension — nothing is ever uploaded, rendered remotely, or logged. OFFLINE BY CONSTRUCTION, NOT BY PROMISE The extension requests only "contextMenus" and "storage". There are no host permissions, so Chrome itself prevents it from reading any website you visit or making any network request. Open the extension's details page and check Permissions — the absence is verifiable, not a policy claim. RIGHT-CLICK ANYWHERE Select any text on a page, right-click, and choose "Generate barcode". Right-click a link to encode its URL, or right-click the page itself to encode the address. Alt+B opens the full generator with a blank form at any time. COVERS THE FORMATS REAL WORK USES Retail product symbols come out with correct GS1 check digits, guard bars that extend below the data area, and human-readable digits placed exactly where the specification puts them. Shipping carton symbols carry the correct start and stop bars for warehouse scanning. Industrial asset tags use the wide-narrow encoding that old readers expect. And for anything a phone can scan, the square symbol supports every error-correction level with automatic mask selection. EXPORT THE WAY YOU NEED IT Copy the PNG straight to your clipboard for documents and slides. Download PNGs at 2× to 8× module width (configurable) for print. Or take an SVG that scales without limits. PNG and SVG are rendered from the same geometry, so they always agree. QUALITY YOU CAN CHECK The QR encoder matches the reference implementation bit-for-bit across a 300+ sample corpus, and every linear symbology is verified by an independent decoder built from the symbology specification.
