The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About BananaLingo
BananaLingo turns any YouTube video into readable, translatable text — and then into a full article with the AI assistant of your choice.
🍌 WHAT IT DOES
▶ Instant transcript
Opens YouTube's transcript panel automatically when you watch a video — no digging through menus. A compact toolbar appears right inside the panel, showing the video title with collapse/expand controls.
🌐 One-click translation
Translate the entire transcript (and the video title) into 15+ languages including English, ไทย, 日本語, 中文, 한국어, Español, Français, Deutsch, Tiếng Việt, Bahasa Indonesia, Русский, Português, हिन्दी and العربية. Switch back to the original at any time.
🤖 Send to your favorite AI
Press one button to send the full transcript to ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. BananaLingo builds a ready-made prompt that asks the AI to write a polished long-form article from the video, opens the AI site in a new tab, and auto-fills the prompt into the chat box. Just press Enter.
📋 Full text & copy
View the transcript as continuous full text, or copy everything to your clipboard with one click — perfect for notes, research, and study.
🛟 Reliable by design
If auto-fill on the AI site ever misses, your prompt is already in the clipboard as a fallback — paste and go.
WHO IT'S FOR
• Content creators repurposing videos into blog posts and articles
• Language learners who want side-by-side transcript translation
• Students and researchers summarizing lectures and talks
• Anyone who prefers reading to watching
PRIVACY
BananaLingo runs entirely in your browser. It does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any server of ours. Transcript text is only sent to the AI service you explicitly choose (ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini) when you click the button. Settings are stored locally in your browser.

2. The transcript panel opens automatically with the BananaLingo toolbar.
