The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Baker's Percent
Baker's Percent is for serious home bakers who think in grams and ratios, not cups and guesswork. Open any recipe page, click the toolbar button, and a slide-in panel extracts the ingredient list, converts every line to grams, and shows baker's percentages with total flour as the 100% base.
Extraction first looks for schema.org Recipe structured data (JSON-LD), which most modern recipe sites publish, and falls back to a heuristic that finds the densest ingredient-looking list on the page. The parser handles Unicode and mixed fractions, decimals, ranges ("2-3 cups" becomes the midpoint), explicit gram hints like "(120g)", baking shorthand (capital T for tablespoon, lowercase t for teaspoon), and countable eggs, yolks, and whites.
Key features:
- One-click analysis of the current recipe page, with a toggle to close the panel
- Automatic gram conversion using a bundled density table (flour, sugars, butter, liquids, cocoa, salt, yeast, leaveners, and more)
- Baker's percentages with total flour as 100%, or click any ingredient to re-base on it
- Proportional rescaling: edit any gram value or type a target total dough weight, and the whole recipe rescales while ratios stay fixed
- Unknown ingredients are flagged with a "?" so you can type the correct weight for just that row
- Copy the result as a Markdown table, including totals and the current base
What it does not do: Baker's Percent has no analytics and requires no account. It has no broad host permissions and no content scripts running by default; it only touches the page you are on, and only when you click the button. Its only network use is validating your license key with Lemon Squeezy; no page content or browsing data ever leaves your device. Density-based volume conversion is approximate by nature, so weigh your flour when precision matters.
Pricing: Baker's Percent is free to install and requires a $5 one-time license, purchased through Lemon Squeezy, to activate. Enter your key once on the extension's options page. Licenses are re-checked periodically with a 7-day offline grace period, so a bad connection never locks you out.
