The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About AwardBroker
AwardBroker is a marketplace where members pass on travel awards they won't use, starting with World of Hyatt. Every listing shows when it was last checked with Hyatt. This extension connects your own Hyatt account to the AwardBroker website, awardbroker.com. The website still answers at its earlier address, award-marketplace.vercel.app. Its only screen is the consent window, and its icon opens the website.
What it does
- Checks your awards. After you choose Allow & connect, AwardBroker checks your Hyatt profile and awards while you use the website, in an open Hyatt tab or one opened briefly in the background. Each check sends your current Hyatt session to AwardBroker's verifier, which makes fixed read requests and doesn't keep the session.
- Fills in your gift details. When you buy, it can fill in your own Hyatt name and member number for the seller's gift, but only when you ask.
- Prepares a gift for you to send. When you're the seller in a checkout and choose Prepare gift in Hyatt, it opens Hyatt's own "Gift Your Award" form in your Hyatt tab and fills in your buyer's member number and last name. You press Send yourself. It then reads Hyatt's answer so the checkout can check delivery. You still enter any code Hyatt emails you.
What it doesn't do. You never enter your Hyatt password in AwardBroker. It never presses Send, books or changes anything on Hyatt. Buyers pay sellers directly; AwardBroker never holds or moves money.
Sign-in expiry. AwardBroker stops Hyatt requests before your Hyatt sign-in expires. If it needs refreshing, open Hyatt, sign in there if asked, and try again.
What gets shared. Listings and checkouts show each member by an anonymous name such as Member 7KQ3. Members who connect Facebook on the website show their Facebook first name, last initial and photo instead, with a "Facebook connected" badge. Disconnecting Facebook removes the name and photo. The extension doesn't read anything from Facebook. Other members also see a masked Hyatt member number and check times. Your full Hyatt name and member number go only to the seller in your own checkout, when you choose to share them. AwardBroker doesn't save the temporary Hyatt sign-in details it uses for checks.
Disconnecting. Disconnect Hyatt anytime from the account menu on AwardBroker. Removing the extension's Hyatt access also disconnects it. Installing the extension reloads open AwardBroker pages so they can reach it, or opens the website; updates don't open any tabs.
Desktop Chrome only. Independent of Hyatt.
