About AsyVault
**AsyVault — Personal Password & Developer Secrets Manager**
AsyVault is a local-first browser extension designed to help you organize personal passwords and developer credentials in two separate, encrypted vaults.
Your information is encrypted locally using AES-256-GCM, with encryption keys derived from your master password. You stay in control of your encrypted data.
**Key Features**
- **Personal Vault:** Store website credentials, usernames, passwords, URLs, and private notes.
- **Developer Vault:** Organize API keys, development credentials, project secrets, and technical notes.
- **Password Generator:** Generate random passwords directly inside the extension.
- **Encrypted Local Storage:** Keep your vault contents encrypted in your browser.
- **GitHub Backup & Sync:** Optionally connect your GitHub account using OAuth to back up encrypted vault data to a dedicated private repository.
- **Portable Backups:** Export your entire encrypted vault and restore it when switching computers, operating systems, or browsers.
- **Session Unlock:** Unlock once per browser session, with a manual lock option.
**Privacy and Security**
AsyVault does not require an AsyVault account or a separate cloud server. GitHub synchronization is optional and requires GitHub authorization. Vault contents are encrypted before being uploaded.
Your master password is essential for accessing your information. AsyVault cannot recover it if it is lost.
AsyVault is currently experimental software and has not undergone an independent security audit. It is not yet recommended for critical production secrets.
