The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Apple Browser AI
Apple Browser AI turns long webpages into concise summaries without sending page content to a developer-operated server.
Click the toolbar button or press Command–Shift–U to summarize the active page. Read the result in a compact popup or Chrome's side panel, and optionally keep the side panel updated while you browse.
How it works:
- Extracts readable text only after you invoke the extension
- Sends that text to a native helper installed on your Mac
- Uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework for the summary
- Stores only your popup width and continuous-summary preference
Requirements:
- Apple silicon Mac with Apple Intelligence enabled
- macOS 26 or newer
- The open-source Apple Browser AI native helper, installed from the project's GitHub repository with `./install.sh`
Apple Browser AI is open source and based on Michael Y. Qiu's MIT-licensed AppleBrowserAI project. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple Inc.
