The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About AnnHub — Clip and Screenshot Library
AnnHub 2.0 is a rebuilt product. Clips and screenshots now land in one local library with their source, tags and typed properties.
New:
- One library for clips and screenshots: search, filters, back-to-source
- Reading view with in-library highlights (five colors, notes) — pages stay untouched
- Block clipping: posts, articles, code blocks, tables in one hover
- Screenshot editor: handles, aspect presets, mosaic & identity anonymization, watermark, export styles, PNG/JPEG/WebP
- Markdown ZIP export: properties as frontmatter, highlights as ==marked text==
- English and Chinese UI, full keyboard support, light/dark theme
Removed (v1 features that no longer fit this direction): vocabulary labels, CEFR word lists, Eudic and LLM integrations, Logseq sync, and highlight marks written onto web pages. v1 vocabulary and page-highlight data do not carry over — export them from v1 first if you still need them.
Detailed description:
Saving a page is easy. Finding it again — and remembering where it came from — is the hard part. AnnHub keeps the web pages worth keeping in one local library: every clip and screenshot carries its source, its tags and its own notes.
CLIP WHAT YOU READ
- Select any passage and clip it in one click — no dialog, no form. A quiet toast lets you undo or edit the title, tags and note.
- Point at a whole block — a post, an article, a code block, a table — and clip it whole, saved as clean Markdown with links and headings.
SCREENSHOT WHAT YOU SEE
- Drag a region or click an element; resize with handles or arrow keys, lock common aspect ratios.
- Annotate in place: arrows, boxes, freehand, mosaic. Blur avatars, names and handles to keep people out of the shot.
- Add a text or image watermark, and a touch of padding, background and rounded corners for sharing. Copy as PNG, or download as PNG/JPEG/WebP.
READ AND HIGHLIGHT — IN THE LIBRARY
Highlights happen where you reread, not on the live page: open a clip in the reading view, mark it up in five colors, attach notes, and jump back to the source page anytime. The original web page is never modified.
ORGANIZE AND FIND IT AGAIN
- Typed properties (text, list, number, date, checkbox) and tags on every entry; define your own, clip-type presets attach them automatically.
- Search and filter by type, source, tag, time or property; every view keeps its state in the URL.
TAKE YOUR DATA WITH YOU
One command exports the whole library as a ZIP: one Markdown file per entry with properties as frontmatter, highlights as ==marked text==, plus the original images. Drop it into Obsidian — or anything that reads Markdown.
LOCAL-FIRST, BY DESIGN
- No account, no cloud, no AI. Entries, images and settings stay in your browser.
- Capture, read, search and export all work offline. The only network request the extension ever makes is fetching an image that the page itself references, when you screenshot it.
