The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About AllReads — Text to speech & read it later
AllReads reads web pages aloud and saves them for
* Listen to any page — Alt+R, or the toolbar button. The player sits at the bottom of the tab; the page keeps scrolling with the words.
* Follow along — each word lights up on the real page as it's read, not in a stripped-down copy.
* Any speed — 0.75× to 3×, adjustable while listening.
* Save for later — Alt+L, the right-click menu, or the save control added to X, Substack, Hacker News, Reddit and Indie Hackers posts.
* Read a screenshot — Alt+Shift+R drags a box over anything on screen and reads the text inside it, including images and scans.
* Resumes where you stopped — per page, on this device.
* Your voice, your settings — pick a voice, turn read-along on or off, set a default speed, or switch off inline saving per site.
On a Mac, use Option (⌥) wherever Alt is written above.
Requires an AllReads account. Premium voices come with your plan.
