About AllowCopy - Enable Copy
π Page won't let you copy? Press Alt+C, then copy as usual
Some pages turn copying off: the text won't select, Ctrl+C does nothing, and the right-click menu never shows up. This extension activates copying for the page you're on, returning the selecting and copying your browser always had. Once it's active, you select and copy exactly the way you always do.
π Core Features
β¨οΈ Activate a page with one key: On a page that blocks copying, press the shortcut and a check mark appears on the toolbar icon. Press it again to disable it and the page is back to how it was
π Copy as you always do: Once it's active, select text and press Ctrl/Cmd+C β no new habits to learn
ποΈ Selection comes back: Pages that stop you selecting text get that back too, so you can simply drag across it
β©οΈ Works even without right-click: The shortcut comes from the browser itself, so no page can block it; even where the right-click menu never appears, one press activates copying
π±οΈ Three ways, one switch: The shortcut, "Activate AllowCopy" in the right-click menu, and the switch in the side panel all do the same thing β use whichever is closest
π Remember the sites you visit often: Turn on "Activate on every visit" and copying is on whenever you open it; turn it off on that site and it's forgotten
π Copy as Markdown (Pro): Keeps headings, lists, links and code blocks, so it drops into notes and docs ready-formatted
π Long selections (Pro): Long passages and big code listings copy whole, instead of stopping partway
π Copy history: Recently copied text stays on your device, ready to copy again or to reopen its page from the side panel; Pro keeps more of it
π Keep the source: Optionally add the page address to what you copy β as a titled link in Markdown β so a quote never loses where it came from
βοΈ Sync across devices: Send your settings and remembered sites to storage you own and pick up where you left off
π Multi-language: Supports English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese
π‘ Use Cases
β’ Research: Pull a key passage into your notes instead of retyping it word by word
β’ Citing: Copy the page address along with the text so the source stays attached
β’ Code: Take commands and snippets out of technical documentation as you read
β’ Sites you read every day: Remember a site once, and every visit after that is ready to copy
π οΈ How to Use
1. On a page that blocks copying, press the shortcut (Alt+C by default), or right-click and choose "Activate AllowCopy"
2. A check mark on the toolbar icon means copying is active on this page
3. Select text and copy as usual with Ctrl/Cmd+C
For sites you visit often, turn on "Activate on every visit" in the side panel and copying is on whenever you open them. The shortcut can be changed to whatever suits you on your browser's extension shortcuts page.
π Privacy
The text you select goes from the page straight to your clipboard on your device; nothing is uploaded. Copy history stays on this device, and nothing is recorded in private windows. No site access is requested by default: the extension acts on the current page only when you press the shortcut, use the menu item or flip the switch in the side panel. Remembering a site asks for access to that one site, handed back when you stop remembering it; content embedded from another site likewise asks only for that site, and only when you need it. Selections inside input boxes are never handled, so passwords and payment details are never copied, stored or sent anywhere.
