The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About AI Translator
AI Translator is a lightweight side panel translation extension for reading webpages.
Update:
- 1.5.3: This update adds extension shortcut support. You can now use Alt + T by default to open the AI Translator side panel. If text is selected on the current webpage, it will be loaded into the side panel and translated automatically.
Key features:
- Translate selected webpage text from the right-click context menu.
- Preserve Markdown structure from selected rich text, including headings, lists, tables, and formatted content.
- Translate webpage images from the image right-click context menu.
- Use Chrome Side Panel so translation stays beside the current webpage without interrupting reading.
- Support OpenAI Responses API, OpenAI Chat Completions compatible APIs, and Claude API.
- Support custom Base URL, model, API Key, output language, prompt, and multiple service configurations.
- Support English and Chinese UI, with the default output language selected automatically from the browser environment.
How to use:
1. Open the AI Translator side panel after installing the extension.
2. Configure your translation API service, model, and API Key in Settings.
3. Select text on any webpage, then right-click and choose “Translate selected text”.
4. To translate an image, right-click a webpage image and choose “Translate image”.
5. The translation result appears in the side panel and can be copied.
Privacy:
AI Translator does not provide a built-in translation account and does not send data to the developer’s server. Selected text, images, and API keys are used only for translation actions initiated by the user. Translation content is sent to the API provider configured by the user. API keys and settings are stored locally in the browser.
