Long AI chats get expensive. Every new message re-sends the entire conversation, so each reply uses more of your usage limit, gets slower, and the model starts losing track of early details. AI Token Saver fixes that with one click. When a chat gets long, it: 1. Shows a small card with the chat's current size. 2. Asks that chat for a handoff summary: your goal, decisions, key facts, latest code and next steps. 3. Opens a new chat on the same site and sends the summary there. You carry on where you left off, and every message after that re-sends a short summary instead of the whole history. Your old chat stays in your history. What it saves In our tests on long chats (45–50k tokens), handing off at the default 20,000-token threshold cut total tokens processed by 36–44%, including the cost of writing and sending the summary.
