About AI to Office: export chats to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF

AI to Office turns a response into a file you can actually submit: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and the plain formats besides. Copying a technical answer out of a browser is where the work starts again: equations arrive as broken text, tables lose their structure, numbers arrive as words rather than figures you can sum, and the format your journal or department requires has to be applied by hand every time. This extension does that part for you. It reads the response on the page and writes the file, on your own machine. WHAT SURVIVES Equations become native Word and PowerPoint equations, editable in the equation editor rather than pasted as pictures. Tables become real tables, with numbers stored as numbers. Code keeps its formatting, and is split across pages or slides instead of being cut off. Figures come across with their captions, numbered by fields so the numbering survives editing. Headings become real heading styles, so the navigation pane, a contents page and cross references all work. WORD AND PDF Set the format once and every export follows it: page size, each margin, one or two columns, typeface, size, spacing, justification. Headings can be numbered by Word, left exactly as the response wrote them, or stripped of numbers. Captions can sit above or below, separately for tables and figures, with your own label, punctuation and numbering, or be switched off entirely. Page numbers can sit at the top or bottom, left, centred or right. Front matter can count in roman numerals with the body starting again at one, and a title page can carry no number at all. A mention of a table or figure in the prose becomes a real cross reference, so it renumbers when you insert something above it. A table too wide for the page is given a page of its own, turned sideways, and the document returns to portrait after it. Line numbers, widow control and hyphenation are all settings, since journals disagree about all three. Or choose a ready style: a thesis, or the manuscript formats the major engineering and science publishers ask for. Each sets the spacing, margins, heading numbers, caption labels and page numbers that venue asks for. You can also load the template a journal publishes and have the settings read out of it. PDF exports carry the same numbered headings, captions and contents page as the Word ones. EXCEL Numbers arrive as a working model rather than a picture of one. Where the response states its method in prose, that method becomes live formulas. Where it does not, the relationship is inferred from the numbers themselves and only written when it reproduces the value shown. Named constants are collected on an Assumptions sheet beside the sentence each came from, so changing one moves the whole model. Summary rows become SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, MIN and MAX. A second table referring to the first becomes VLOOKUP. A verdict column becomes IF. A stated discount rate produces a working NPV and IRR. Statistics, including ANOVA, t tests, regression and group means, become live functions. Tables are defined tables, so a formula can name a column and adding a row extends the whole table. Charts are drawn from the cells, so they follow the formulas when you change an input. They are made when a chart is asked for, or table by table when you choose to be asked, including which columns to plot and whether to fit a trendline. Dates are stored as dates so they sort. Columns with a fixed set of answers get dropdown lists. Wide tables print landscape, fitted to the page, with the heading row repeating. POWERPOINT Each heading becomes a slide. Tables stay tables, code is paginated, and equations remain editable. A table worth plotting also gets a chart slide, drawn from real data rather than pasted as an image. Load your institution's own template and its slide masters, layouts, theme and graphics are used, so its logos and design sit behind your content. Take its typography as well, or keep your own. Every colour is derived from the background of the layout each slide sits on, so a deck on a dark or coloured template stays readable. THINGS THAT SAVE TIME Choose what goes in the file before it is written: drop the sections you do not want, rename a heading, move one section above another. See the document before you save it, at the real page proportions with your margins, typeface and numbering. Export only the part you highlighted. Add to the last file instead of making another one, so an afternoon of questions becomes one workbook with several sheets or one document with several sections. Export the whole conversation at once, each answer under the question that produced it. Copy a response with its tables and headings intact and paste it straight into a document you already have open. Keyboard shortcuts for the formats you use most, and a search box for finding any setting by name. PRIVACY The whole conversion happens in your browser. No response is uploaded, no account is needed, and no server of the developer's sees your work. There is no analytics and no telemetry. PRICING CSV, Markdown, LaTeX, HTML and RTF exports are free, always, with no limit. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF are free for the first twenty exports. There is no price for them yet, and nothing to buy. When the twenty are used, the extension asks what you would pay rather than showing you a checkout, and you can write to me if you need more in the meantime. Try it on your own work first. The free allowance is there so you can find out whether it does what you need, on your own documents, at no cost. WHAT THIS IS, AND IS NOT This is a tool written by one person alongside a full time research degree, not a product with a support desk. It reads pages belonging to services it does not control, so when those sites change, parts of it may stop working until they are updated. There is no guaranteed update schedule. Check exported files before you rely on them. The extension converts a pa…
