About AI Media Detector
See at a glance which images and videos on the web are AI generated.
AI Media Detector puts a colorful border around AI-generated images and videos as you browse, and pops up a small alert when one scrolls into view, with a thumbnail and a "Show" button that jumps straight to it.
HOW IT DECIDES
• Solid rainbow border: AI generated. The file itself says so. Content Credentials (C2PA) and IPTC labels that many AI tools add (including tools from OpenAI, Google, Adobe, Meta and Microsoft), Stable Diffusion / ComfyUI generation settings, or Facebook's own "AI info" label.
• Dashed rainbow border: AI edited. A real photo partly changed with AI, e.g. generative fill.
• Orange dashed border: Likely AI. The page suggests it: hosted on an AI generator site, alt text or caption says AI, posted in an AI art community on Reddit, or a listing title that names AI tools.
Hover any flagged image to see exactly why it was flagged.
RIGHT-CLICK → CHECK FOR AI
Unsure about a picture? Right-click it and choose "Check for AI" for a clear answer, including "No AI signs found".
MAKE IT YOURS
Pick a border style (color cycle, static, pulse, flash, heartbeat or neon flicker), one of nine color schemes (rainbow, neon, sunset, cyan, matrix green, ocean, alert red, monochrome or its mirror-image twin), and where the alert pops up.
OPTIONAL PIXEL ANALYSIS
Many sites (Facebook, Instagram, X, Reddit) strip AI labels from uploads. Add your own Sightengine API key in Settings to analyze the pixels of images you right-click, or of every image as it comes into view.
WORKS WITH
Any website, with extra smarts for Reddit, Facebook (including Marketplace), Instagram and Threads. Images, Reddit video posts and direct video files (.mp4/.mov).
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No accounts, tracking or analytics. Checks run in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you add a Sightengine key yourself.
Note: no detector is perfect. A missing border does not prove an image is real.
