AI-ID Output Connector

AI-ID Output Connector adds a one-click "AI-ID" button under AI-generated images on ChatGPT and Gemini. Click it, and the image gets a verifiable identity band with an embedded Content Credential, plus a shareable link anyone can check. AI-ID is listed on the C2PA Conforming Products List as a conformant generator product for image/png, at Maximum Assurance Level 1. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHY AI-ID? AI-generated images are everywhere. They get reposted, edited, and stripped of context. There's no built-in way to show that a given image really came from your session, on a real platform, at a real moment in time. AI-ID adds that layer. Every AI-ID record carries: • Your AI-ID username (@yourname), tied to your signed-in account • The source platform (chatgpt.com or gemini.google.com) • A timestamp • A public verification link Anyone (followers, clients, journalists, collaborators) can open the link and see who recorded the image, where, and when. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW IT WORKS 1. Sign in once at ai-idcenter.org and claim your @username. 2. Generate images in ChatGPT or Gemini as you normally would. 3. Click the AI-ID button under the image you want to record. 4. AI-ID records it, produces a copy carrying the AI-ID band and an embedded Content Credential (C2PA manifest), and opens your verification link. If the generator embedded its own Content Credential, as ChatGPT does, it is preserved and checked too. The button tells you exactly what happened: • Verified: record created, Content Credential embedded • No credential: record created, but the credential could not be attached; no banded copy is published in that case • Logged: record created, credential status not confirmed • Image not found: the image was no longer on the page; nothing was sent ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT'S SUPPORTED ✓ ChatGPT (chatgpt.com): AI-generated images ✓ Gemini (gemini.google.com): AI-generated images Text outputs and other platforms are not covered in this version. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRIVACY PRIVACY Nothing is captured until you click the button, and only images generated by ChatGPT or Gemini can be recorded; images you upload yourself are not captured. When you click, AI-ID sends the image, the address of the page it came from, your username and a timestamp. Your prompts and the conversation text are never collected or sent. If your session has expired when you click, the extension may briefly open ai-idcenter.org in a background tab (up to 8 seconds) to renew your sign-in, then closes it. The only background activity is a local keep-alive timer that keeps the extension responsive; it makes no network requests and collects nothing. Authentication is handled by Clerk with a short-lived token. Records are kept until you ask for their deletion.
