The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Actor Tally
WHAT'S NEW IN 4.0
Insights — a rotating line of plain-language observations about your own
history: your busiest weekday, your night-owl share, how much of your log one
person accounts for, how long your current streak is.
Chart builder — ask your own question instead of reading fixed charts: seven
measures (logs, appearances, unique actors, sites, minutes, average length,
average rating) across fourteen groupings, drawn as a line, bar or area, and
optionally narrowed by your current filters. Save any chart as an image.
Time spent — give a log a duration, or run the built-in stopwatch while you
watch. Totals, a length distribution and a month-by-month trend follow, and
length becomes something you can filter and chart by.
Places — label a log with where you were. Add coordinates and your places
appear on a world map that ships inside the extension and draws entirely
offline, like everything else here.
Co-stars — mark who was billed as a co-star rather than a lead. Co-star billing
is its own filter, its own chart grouping and its own badge.
Video position — optionally record how far into a video you were when you
logged it, so you can pick the moment back up later. Off by default; it reads
the page once, at the instant you press Log.
Add a log manually — record something watched on your phone, your TV or a
friend's place, with its own date and time.
Everything is editable — open any log's details to see every field in full,
including the whole link, and correct any of it: date and time, rating, site,
title, link, actors, tags, place, duration, video position.
More ways to read a week — a per-day breakdown between any two dates, and a
weekday-by-hour heatmap of when you log.
Make it yours — a settings drawer with a pink theme, banners, panel visibility,
drag-to-reorder layout with a reset, and row limits. Plus a monthly goal ring,
day streaks, and your log count drawn as tally marks you can export as an image.
Redo — alongside twenty steps of undo.
Report a bug — a button in the dashboard footer that opens Telegram, X or the
store's support tab. Nothing is sent automatically; you write the message.
ACTOR TALLY
Your log. Your device. Nobody else's.
Actor Tally is a private tally counter for people who watch a lot of video. One
click reads the page you're on, suggests likely names, and logs your pick in
seconds — with optional star ratings, tags, co-star billing, a duration, a place
and a video position. Over time you build a personal record of who you've seen,
how often, when, for how long, and where.
VERIFIABLY PRIVATE, BY ARCHITECTURE
Actor Tally contains no code that can connect to the internet. Not a promise — a
fact anyone can inspect. No account, no sign-up, no server, and no host
permissions. Every entry lives only in your browser. Setting an optional PIN
encrypts your data at rest (PBKDF2 with 310,000 iterations + AES-256-GCM via
your browser's built-in Web Crypto), and a locked tab holds nothing decrypted at
all. Press Esc and the dashboard becomes an ordinary, editable to-do list.
Failed PIN attempts are logged for you. Even the world map is offline: the
vector data ships inside the extension.
A REAL ANALYTICS DASHBOARD
Leaderboard of your most-logged people. Calendar heatmap of your busiest days.
Weekday-by-hour heatmap of when you log. Per-day breakdown between any two
dates. Time spent, with totals and trends. A chart builder for your own
questions. Insights in plain language. Places on a map. Per-site and
month-by-month breakdowns. Personal records, badges and milestones. Per-person
cards with photos, ratings and tags. Everything is clickable and filterable — by
tag, name, site, co-star, place, length or time of day. A shareable yearly
recap.
YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS
Every field of every log can be corrected after the fact. Twenty steps of undo
and redo. A 30-day trash with restore. Full export and import backups, including
all four pages at once. An optional minimal file lets you compare tastes with a
friend — computed entirely on your own device, never uploaded.
FOUR LOGS, ONE INSTALL
Keep up to four separate, independent tallies — one per category, or one per
anything — each with its own entries, photos, places, layout and its own word in
place of "actor". One PIN covers them all.
BUILT FOR EVERYONE
Available in English, Türkçe, Русский, العربية (full right-to-left layout),
Español, Français, and 日本語.
Free, no ads, no tracking. If it's useful, optional donations keep it going.
