The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Ache - demand finder
Ache reads the forum thread the user is viewing and reports whether it describes a real recurring problem and whether anyone in it is close to paying for a solution.
WHAT IT DOES
• Says whether a thread describes a real recurring problem or a one-off complaint
• Scores separately whether anyone would pay to fix it
• Flags posts that are promoting the writer's own product
• Highlights the individual comments carrying buying intent
• Keeps a findings list grouped by community, with export to Markdown or CSV
WHAT IT WILL NOT DO
Ache never posts, votes or replies. It reads and reports.
It never reads what you type.
It will tell you when a thread is a real problem that nobody will pay to solve, which is the answer more often than it is comfortable.
ENGINES
You choose which engine judges, in Settings. Jev from TypeSafe is the default and the engine Ache's thresholds were tuned on. OpenAI Decisions and Cloudflare Clef are optional and new in 1.2.0. They are unverified and not calibrated, so expect fewer findings and more threads marked unsettled than with Jev. Each needs your own key.
PRIVACY
Ache has no account and no server of ours. To produce a judgment it sends the site and community, the thread title and post text, the top comments, the post age and the comment count to the one engine you chose: TypeSafe's Jev (the default), OpenAI's Decisions API, or Cloudflare Workers AI running Clef. It uses the API key you supply for that provider (for Cloudflare, an API token and your account ID), and you pay that provider directly. The text goes only to the provider you selected and never to the developer, who runs no server and keeps no data. What a provider does with a request is set by its own privacy policy: typesafe.ai/legal/privacy-policy, openai.com/policies/privacy-policy, cloudflare.com/privacypolicy. Ache stores nothing off your machine and uses nothing for advertising or to train any model. The only other network request is verifying your licence key with Gumroad.
FREE AND PAID
Free covers the judgment itself, on every page, with no limit: judgments are never metered, because you are already paying for your own inference.
One payment of $4.99 unlocks grouping and sorting your findings, search, your own notes, and export to Markdown or CSV. No subscription.
