The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About YouTube Tweak - Control YouTube and make it calmer
Take back control of your YouTube browsing experience with YouTube Tweak. This extension is designed to eliminate distractions and bring clarity to your video feeds.
Key Features:
• Block Infinite Scroll: Stops the endless recommendation loop on YouTube, helping you avoid doomscrolling and stay focused on what you actually came to watch.
• Intentional Browsing: Replace infinite scrolling with a Load More button to minimize distractions and encourage intentional browsing (No more infinite scroll. Take back your time).
• Feed Filtering: Filter the Subscriptions page to show either Videos or Shorts.
• Absolute Timestamps: Replaces vague relative dates (like "3 hours ago" or "2 months ago") with clear, precise absolute dates so you know exactly when a video was published.
• Customization: Choose your preferred date format.
• Quick Search: Search YouTube straight from the popup without opening the site first.
• Turn Features On or Off: A new Features tab in the popup lets you pick exactly which tweaks you want — switch each one on or off on its own instead of getting all of them.
- Your choice takes effect on any YouTube tab you already have open, right away.
• Minimalist Home Page: (off by default — switch it on from the Features tab) Swaps YouTube's busy home page for a calm, Google-style one: just the YouTube logo and the search bar in the middle.
- It's YouTube's own search bar, so suggestions, voice search, and the / keyboard shortcut all still work.
- Only the home page changes — watching videos, search results, and your Subscriptions look exactly as before.
• Hide Sidebar: (off by default — switch it on from the Features tab) Hides the menu strip on the left of YouTube, and the ☰ button that opens it, on every page so videos and lists get more room.
• Grid view for search results: (off by default — switch it on from the Features tab) Lays search results out as a multi-column grid of cards — thumbnail on top, details below — like the home page, instead of one long single-column list.
- Works on the main search page and on a channel's own search tab; every other page (watching videos, home, playlists) is left alone.
- Keeps only videos, playlists, and channels — Shorts shelves, ads, "People also search for", and other shelves are dropped.
- Channel results become a centered card the same size as the video cards, and playlist/mix cards match too.
• Cleaner popup layout: The popup's tabs now sit in one tidy row you can swipe through or move with the ‹ › arrows. The Date Format tab stays greyed out, with a note explaining why, until you turn on "Convert relative dates".
• Keyboard shortcut: Press Ctrl + Shift + Y (⌘ + Shift + Y on Mac) to open the popup without reaching for the toolbar icon. If that combo is already taken, pick your own at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
