First use downloads a model of about 23 MB from Hugging Face. The model and search index remain in your browser profile. Meaning search is an optional preview and works best in English; it may miss relevant passages or show unrelated matches. It searches saved content and doesn’t automatically fetch transcripts across your library. 🤖 AI SUMMARIES AND VIDEO CHAT - Connect your own Gemini, OpenRouter, OpenAI or DeepSeek API key. - Summarize a video or ask questions about its transcript. - These requests send relevant video text and questions to your chosen provider. - Internet access is required, and provider charges apply separately from the extension’s lifetime license. AI answers can be inaccurate. Check the original video for context. 🔑 LIFETIME LICENSE & FREE TRIAL - Unlock folders, caption capture and transcript import, transcript search, Meaning search, AI summaries and video chat with a one-time lifetime license. - Try these features with an optional 14-day trial—no Timestamp account or payment card required. - Your saved content remains accessible after the trial ends. - AI summaries and video chat require your own API key; provider charges are separate. ☁️ OPTIONAL CLOUD SYNC - Connect your Timestamp account to sync saved timestamps with the web dashboard. - New installations start in local mode. - Cloud Pro and the local lifetime license are separate purchases. 🔒 PRIVACY AND BACKUPS - Meaning-search queries and saved text are processed on your device. - Local mode still uses network connections for features such as captions, model downloads and license validation. - In cloud mode, automatic caption capture may upload available captions to a shared cache. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy. - Backups can include notes, transcripts, summaries and conversations. They exclude API keys, credentials, license records and model/index files. Keep exported backups private. - The interface is available in 13 languages. Privacy policy: https://www.youtubetimestamp.com/privacy
