The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About YouTube Focus
Make your YouTube recommendations match what you want to watch.
Describe your interests in plain language. YouTube Focus uses TypeSafe AI's Jev model to dim or hide unrelated videos on the desktop YouTube homepage and in watch-page recommendations.
- Choose Dim to fade distractions while keeping videos clickable, or Hide to remove them from the feed.
- Adjust how visible dimmed videos remain.
- Change your interests whenever you want, or pause filtering with one switch.
- See local API request counts and estimated spending. Cached results avoid repeat API requests.
Requires your own TypeSafe API key. TypeSafe account access and API usage charges are separate from this extension. Get your key at https://console.typesafe.ai and add it under TypeSafe connection in the extension popup.
Filtering applies to regular videos on the homepage and in watch-page recommendations. Search results, subscriptions, the video player, and Shorts shelves are left unchanged. AI filtering can make mistakes.
Privacy: Your interests prompt and recommended videos' IDs, titles, channels, and visible metadata are sent to TypeSafe for classification. Your API key and settings are stored locally in your Chrome profile. The extension does not send cookies, account details, watch history, transcripts, or thumbnail images.
YouTube Focus is an independent extension and is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
