YouTube Evidence Notes — Beta

Turn YouTube videos into source-backed research notes. YouTube Evidence Notes helps creators, writers, and researchers save the exact lines they want to reuse—with the original video, timestamp, and an easy way to jump back and verify the context. How it works 1. Open a supported youtube.com/watch video. 2. Search the current YouTube transcript. 3. Select a line to save as an Evidence Note. 4. Add an optional personal note. 5. Use Verification Jump to return to the timestamp and verify the quote. 6. Copy your notes as Markdown for your research workflow. Built for careful research • Save timestamped quotes while keeping the video title, channel, and source together. • Mark auto-generated captions so you know when to verify carefully. • See clear messages when a transcript is missing, unavailable, or unsupported. • Keep saved quotes and notes on your device by default. Scope and limitations This is a focused notes and quote-verification tool for the video you are currently viewing. It is not a transcript or subtitle downloader, an AI summarizer, a speech-to-text service, or an academic citation generator. It does not create transcripts when captions are unavailable. Standard youtube.com/watch pages are supported; Shorts, live streams, members-only, restricted, and other unsupported pages may not be readable. Privacy Your saved quotes and personal notes stay on your device. This version sends no usage statistics and uses no remote analytics service. Transcript text, quotes, notes, search terms, video URLs, video IDs, titles, channels, and browsing history are not uploaded to us. The free Beta requires no account and does not sync to the cloud.
