This blocker does both, and every setting applies at once. 📌 How to block YouTube on Chrome in three steps 1. Open the extension and choose All of YouTube. 2. Every link to the site, including shortened links and the mobile version, now opens a calm block page with Back and Close tab buttons. 3. Watch time is counted honestly, only while the tab is on screen and something plays or you scroll. It starts switched off because the site sometimes reacts to ad blockers, so ads stay until you decide otherwise. • Dislikes shown as an estimate from an independent open service. This is the only feature that goes online, and it sends just the video ID after you turn it on. 🔒 Private by design The extension has no account, no analytics and no ads. Your settings and stats stay in your browser, and nothing is counted in Incognito. The stats never load thumbnails, so not even image servers learn what you watched. 👪 YouTube parental controls for a shared computer Close the site completely on a kids' computer, or leave it on and hide Shorts and chosen channels.
