Wortblick - German Reading Assistant

Understand every German word as you read. Hold shift and point at any German word on any website. A small card shows its article, plural, English meanings and an example sentence. No copying, no switching tabs, no dictionary site. Made for learners at A2 to B2 level and for anyone who reads German every day: news, emails, official letters, contracts. WHY WORTBLICK • Knows German grammar. Inflected words lead back to their base word: "Häusern" shows das Haus, "ging" shows gehen. • Understands compound nouns. "Krankenversicherungskarte" is split into Kranken + Versicherung + Karte, with its article: die. • Der, die or das at a glance. Every noun shows its article and plural. • Save words in context. One click saves the word with the sentence you found it in and the site it came from. • Works offline. The whole dictionary (95,000 words and 470,000 inflected forms) comes with the extension. Lookups never use the internet. • Private by design. No account, no tracking, no analytics. Nothing you read or save leaves your browser. • Looks the same on every site. Websites can't break or restyle the card. HOW TO USE 1. Open any page in German. 2. Hold Shift and move the mouse over a word. 3. Click Save to keep a word. Your saved words are in the toolbar popup. Prefer another key? In the popup, choose Shift, Alt, Ctrl, or Hover (no key: just rest the mouse on a word). You can also switch Wortblick off for any site. PRIVACY Wortblick looks up words on your device. It reads only the word under your mouse when you ask for it, and saved words are stored in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.
