The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Website Toolkit
Website Toolkit is a local Chrome extension for developers and QA engineers. It helps you quickly understand the current webpage and gather practical checks without leaving the browser.
Click Scan page to inspect the active tab on your device. Nothing is uploaded. There is no AI, no account, no analytics, and no backend.
What you get
• Technology detection — identifies recognizable CMS and frontend signals from the page, with confidence and evidence (never guessed from random page text)
• Fonts and colors — shows typefaces used on visible text and common text/background colors
• Performance overview — navigation timing, Core Web Vitals when available, resource totals, and image issues
• Accessibility checks — automated heuristics to surface common problems early (not a WCAG certification)
• Bug Reporter — create structured Markdown/JSON reports with page context and an optional local screenshot; drafts stay on your device until you clear them
• CMS helpers — a dedicated tab for the detected CMS, including deeper Contao frontend diagnostics when Contao is present
Why install it
• One scan covers stack signals, performance, accessibility, and bug capture
• Results restore when you reopen the popup on the same page
• All analysis stays local in your browser
Permissions
• activeTab — temporary access to the tab you choose to inspect
• scripting — inject the analyzer into that tab on demand
• storage — save the latest scan and Bug Reporter drafts locally
This extension does not request broad host permissions.
Limitations
Restricted pages (chrome://, Web Store, extension pages) cannot be inspected. Versions are shown only when a site exposes them. Accessibility results are heuristics, not certification.
