WebG Voice

Read aloud in Italian, offline after the first download. WebG Voice reads the text you select on a web page aloud, in Italian. The voice is natural and expressive and runs entirely on your computer: no account, no subscription, and your text is never sent to any external service. How to use it • Select text and press Alt+Q, or right-click → "Leggi ad alta voce". Alt+Q again pauses, Alt+W stops (on Mac: Control+Q and Control+W). • While reading, a small bar offers pause, stop and speed controls. • From the extension button you can paste text and set the speed, from 0.7 to 1.5. Free, offline after the first download On first start it downloads the voice model (about 326 MB) once, in the background. If the connection drops it resumes on its own; on metered connections it waits for your click. After that, reading works offline. Built for Italian Numbers, percentages, dates, times, prices and common abbreviations are read the way a person would say them. Long texts start within seconds: while one part plays, the next is prepared. Acronyms and English words Acronyms said as words (RAM, SEO) are read as words, others are spelled out; common English words and names such as Google, YouTube or iPhone keep their English pronunciation inside the Italian sentence. A pronunciation dictionary in the options lets you fix any word and try it with Listen. Adapts to your computer Reading measures synthesis speed by itself and adjusts on slower PCs to avoid gaps. The options page has a troubleshooting test. Privacy No data collected, no tracking, no ads. The only network connections download the voice files.
