The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Web Paperize
Web Paperize saves user-requested web content as local PDF or Markdown documents. You can save a whole page, an exact text selection, one picked element, or a complete ChatGPT conversation.
PDF
- Auto chooses a paper-friendly layout when an identifiable article body exists; otherwise it preserves the original webpage.
- Paperized extracts the article body into a portrait, paginated layout, and reports failure instead of silently switching modes.
- Original preserves the webpage's current layout.
- A complete ChatGPT conversation can be exported as a PDF through the dedicated ChatGPT route.
- Chrome-native rendering keeps text selectable and searchable, and keeps links clickable.
Markdown
- Whole Page on an ordinary webpage converts an identifiable article body into editable Markdown. If no article body can be identified, the extension refuses extraction rather than saving unreliable Markdown.
- On an open ChatGPT conversation, Whole Page exports the complete message sequence through the dedicated ChatGPT route; it is not limited to the visible portion and does not depend on an article body.
- Selection saves exactly the selected content, without adding outside context. Element saves the region you pick.
- Supported headings, links, and fenced code are preserved. Simple tables use GFM; complex tables may retain sanitized HTML. Images remain remote links, not bundled files.
Save location
- “Choose where to save each time” is off by default. When off, Chrome download settings apply. When on, each PDF or Markdown export lets you choose a folder and filename.
Limits
- Selections inside iframes and closed Shadow DOM are unsupported.
- Signed ChatGPT image URLs may expire.
- No export mode can guarantee complete page content; some omissions can be undetectable. Check important files against the source.
Processing and privacy
- Exports run in your browser. Web Paperize has no developer backend and no telemetry.
- Ordinary webpage content is processed locally in Chrome. The extension does not upload exported content from ordinary webpages.
- Complete ChatGPT export runs only on your request from an open ChatGPT conversation. It uses your existing ChatGPT login session to request that conversation and any needed image URLs directly from ChatGPT/OpenAI for the PDF or Markdown export.
- Your ChatGPT token is used temporarily in browser memory; the developer receives neither the token nor the conversation.
Language
- Use English or 简体中文 UI, or Auto to follow Chrome's language. Interface language does not translate exported content.
Requirements
- Web Paperize is independent and is not affiliated with OpenAI. Requires desktop Chrome 118+ on macOS, Windows, or Linux.
