About WaterReminder
Water Reminder – Stay Hydrated and Healthy
This extension is designed to improve your daily well-being by reminding you to drink water regularly. Many people forget to stay hydrated during long work or study sessions, which can lead to fatigue, headaches, and decreased productivity. Water Reminder aims to solve this in a simple and non-intrusive way.
With this extension, users can set their own custom interval (in minutes) for how often they want to be reminded. Once set, the extension displays a small on-page notification directly within the tab the user is actively browsing. These reminders are friendly, visual prompts encouraging users to take a sip of water.
🔧 Key Features:
⏰ Customizable Reminder Interval – Choose how often you want to be reminded.
💧 Lightweight Popup Notifications – No browser notifications or sounds, just subtle in-page messages.
🔁 Persistent Settings – Your preferences are saved and restored even after restarting Chrome.
🌍 Works on All Websites – Reminders appear wherever you are browsing.
🚫 No Ads, No Tracking – 100% privacy-focused.
🔒 Why We Request Permissions:
This extension requests certain permissions to ensure proper functionality:
Storage: To save and retrieve your selected reminder interval.
Alarms: To schedule periodic reminders in the background.
Scripting + Tabs + ActiveTab + Host Permissions: To inject a lightweight visual reminder into your current active tab, on any site.
The extension does not use remote code, tracking, external APIs, or background network activity. All logic is handled locally in the browser using Chrome’s supported APIs.
