WatchRoom Companion

Watch or listen together while media stays on its original website. WatchRoom Companion connects a browser tab to an authenticated WatchRoom Social Room. When a site's player exposes standard HTML5 audio or video state, Companion relays play, pause, seek, and playback position so the room can stay in sync. The website continues to deliver and play its own media. Music services recognized by the extension include YouTube Music, Apple Music, Spotify Web Player, and SoundCloud. It also recognizes YouTube and many popular video services.Recognition is not a guarantee that every player will expose usable playback state: support depends on the service's current browser player, accessible HTML media elements, and any provider or DRM restrictions. Sites that hide playback in inaccessible frames or use nonstandard players may not synchronize. The social stage keeps participants visible alongside the original player. Move it, minimize it, or expand into Party Mode. Chat, invite friends, and optionally turn on your camera and microphone. Switching display modes reuses the room connection. You need a WatchRoom account. The extension does not provide subscriptions or access to third-party services; provider accounts, regional availability, and terms still apply. It does not download, decrypt, capture, proxy, or redistribute third-party media.
