About Vox Learning: Dual Subtitles

Vox Learning shows two subtitle tracks at once – the language you're learning and your own – on YouTube, Netflix, Crunchyroll, Apple TV and more. Click any word and you get its meaning for the exact line on screen, so an idiom or a word with several meanings comes out the way it was meant. Save it and your deck does the rest. Spaced repetition brings the word back just before you'd forget it, with the scene and the actor's voice. You learn better and faster this way than from any word list, because every word in your deck has a personal connection: the moment in a show you were watching when you first heard it, a memory that is already yours. CLICK A WORD Click any word in the subtitles and you get its meaning and how common it is. The translation is made for the exact line on screen, so an idiom or a word with several meanings comes out the way it was meant. Save the word and it keeps the sentence, a snapshot of the scene, and the audio of the line as the actor said it. IT COMES BACK Meeting a word once is not the same as knowing it. Your deck on vox-learning.com brings each saved word back for review just before you'd forget it, then again at longer and longer intervals, until it is simply yours. That is spaced repetition, and the deck handles all of it. A word never comes back alone. It returns with the scene and the actor's voice, the moment you first heard it, and that is why it stays with you in a way a word list never will. THE SAME CLICK ON THE WEB AND IN BOOKS Reader mode does the same on any web page: click a word for its meaning, save it if you want to. Your own books go in a library on vox-learning.com, with your place kept and every word clickable. HELP WITH A HARD SCRIPT Learning Japanese, Chinese, Korean or Thai? Vox Learning can show furigana, pinyin or romanization above the subtitles, and you can switch it off whenever you like. A FIT RATING ON EVERY EPISODE Every episode gets a rating against your language level, so you know before you commit. REAL SUBTITLE TRACKS Vox Learning shows the platform's own subtitle tracks, two at a time, and makes the one in the language you're learning clickable. NOTHING GETS IN THE WAY No ads, no analytics, no streaks, no reminders, no pop-ups over the film. When there is nothing useful to say, Vox Learning says nothing. WHAT'S FREE AND WHAT ISN'T Everything so far is free, and the subtitles don't even need an account. What's paid is what costs us to serve: in-context translation, and the storage your deck needs. Those two are also what makes you learn faster. A translation made for the exact line teaches a word the way it was really used. The deck takes care of the rest. Spaced repetition brings each word back just before you'd forget it, scene and all, so nothing you learn gets lost. Try both for 7 days, no card needed. If you don't subscribe, the trial simply ends, and nothing is ever charged automatically.
