The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Virgil — AI Browser Agent
The first generation of autonomous AI — inside your browser. Virgil acts for you: emails, forms, research and more.
The first generation of autonomous AI is here. And this one is yours.
Virgil is the AI that truly lives inside your browser. It sees what you see. It acts where you act. Not a chatbot that talks — an agent that does.
Tell it, in your own words: "Search Amazon for wireless headphones under $50 and open the top three results" or "Answer this email" or "Fill out this form with my details" — and Virgil moves through your tabs like a second pair of hands and gets it done.
Its power depends on you. The clearer your intent, the further its reach.
What Virgil can do:
• Enter search terms into any search field
• Click links, buttons, and page elements
• Fill out and submit forms
• Open, switch, and close tabs
• Insert files into upload fields
• Summarise or extract content from the current page
How it works:
Virgil uses the Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP) API to perform reliable, non-pixel-based click and keyboard interactions. The page structure (visible text, interactive elements) of the active tab is sent, together with your task, to the publisher's server. A third-party AI model then determines the next action, which Virgil executes in the tab.
Important notes:
• Chrome will display a banner "[Extension] is debugging this browser" while Virgil is executing a task. This is a Chrome security feature and expected behaviour.
• Content of the page on which you use Virgil is transmitted to an external server for AI processing. Passwords and browser-saved credentials are not transmitted.
• Virgil operates within your already-logged-in browser session — no separate login to websites is required.
Pricing:
• 25 free tasks to try (no account required)
• 1 token = 1 completed task
