About URL Prefix Switcher (Localhost Redirect)
URL Prefix Switcher lets you open the page you're viewing on your local development server with a single click.
Click the extension icon and the current tab's origin (protocol, domain and port) is replaced with http://localhost:8080. The path, query parameters and hash stay exactly as they were. For example:
https://app.example.com/orders/42?tab=details#notes
→ http://localhost:8080/orders/42?tab=details#notes
It's handy for developers who want to reproduce a production or staging page locally without copying and editing URLs by hand.
• One click, no setup
• Keeps the path, query string and hash
• Only uses the activeTab permission, so it reads nothing until you click it
• Collects no data
