The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About URL Checker for Google Ads™
Stop broken destination links and missing tracking parameters before they affect a campaign.
URL Checker for Google Ads™ helps PPC specialists, agencies, and marketing teams review one Final URL setup before launch. Enter your Final URL, tracking template, Final URL suffix, and custom parameters to see how the destination will be assembled and identify potential problems.
WHY INSTALL IT?
A small URL configuration mistake can break a landing page, remove campaign attribution, or send visitors to the wrong destination. This extension gives you a quick, structured pre-launch check without requiring a Google Ads API connection or account access.
WHAT IT CHECKS
• Final URL structure and supported URL schemes
• Tracking template assembly
• Final URL suffix formatting
• ValueTrack and custom parameter usage
• Missing, empty, or duplicate parameters
• Required tracking parameters
• UTM completeness
• Expected destination hostname
• Common encoding and template mistakes
• Configuration-level override risks
Every result is labeled Passed, Passed with warnings, or Failed. When an issue is found, the extension identifies the affected field, explains the problem in plain language, and suggests a possible fix.
REVIEW THE ASSEMBLED DESTINATION
See the representative destination URL produced from your configuration, including clearly labeled sample substitutions. This helps you understand where tracking parameters will appear before you publish the campaign.
READ VISIBLE FIELDS ON DEMAND
When viewing a supported Google Ads edit form, select “Read current fields” to copy supported visible URL settings into the extension.
This action is always user-initiated. The extension does not automatically scan your account, edit campaign fields, or submit changes. You can review and correct every captured value before running a check.
OPTIONAL LIVE DESTINATION CHECK
After completing the local structural review, you may run one optional destination request. When available, this can show:
• HTTP redirects
• Observed final URL
• HTTP status
• Hostname or HTTPS changes
• Whether required parameter values survived the redirect
Chrome requests temporary website access only after you review the disclosure and choose to continue. The request does not use your existing destination-site cookies or read the response body.
If you prefer not to grant access, the complete structural checker, reports, and manual final-address comparison remain available.
CREATE A QA REPORT
Copy a plain-text summary or download a self-contained HTML report containing:
• Original URL configuration
• Assembled destination
• Sample substitutions
• Findings and suggested fixes
• Optional live-check observations
• Test time and extension version
• Important testing limitations
Reports can be shared with colleagues or attached to internal QA and launch-approval workflows.
LOCAL AND PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account required
• No Google OAuth
• No Google Ads API access
• No analytics or advertising
• No telemetry
• No background browsing monitoring
• No developer-controlled data server
Inputs, drafts, findings, settings, and optional history remain in your Chrome profile. You can keep up to 20 recent checks, disable new history entries, delete individual records, or remove all locally stored user data.
IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS
The assembled URL uses sample substitutions and does not reproduce a genuine paid advertisement click. The optional destination request observes HTTP redirects only; it does not execute JavaScript redirects, reproduce parallel tracking, validate GA4 receipt, predict Google Ads policy approval, or confirm that a page rendered correctly.
