Unwind — a quiet space to think

**Unwind is a quiet, private place to think things through — like a journal that listens back.** Most days don't need a therapist. They need a moment to slow down, put the tangle into words, and feel understood. Unwind is a warm, reflective companion for exactly that — and it's built so your most personal thoughts never leave your device. **Private by design** - No account. No sign-up. No server. No telemetry. - Your conversations, mood check-ins, and notes are stored only in your browser. - If you add an AI key, your messages go **directly** from your browser to the provider you chose — never through us. We don't have a server to send them to. - API keys are encrypted on your device and are excluded from any export. - One tap deletes everything — conversations, memory, mood history, and keys. **A companion that listens first** Unwind is tuned to understand what you're feeling before it responds — reflecting it back in plain, human language rather than jumping to advice. It remembers the themes that matter to you (only on your device) so it feels continuous, and it honors how you like to be spoken to. **Your choice of engine** - **Bring your own key** (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) for the richest, most attuned replies — pick a higher-tier model for the best experience. - Or use **Chrome's built-in on-device AI (Gemini Nano)** — fully private, no key, nothing ever leaves your computer. - Every reply tells you which engine answered. **Speak instead of typing** Optional on-device voice input transcribes your voice locally (via Whisper). Your audio never leaves the device. **Caring, and honest about its limits** Unwind is a supportive companion — **not therapy, not a clinician, and not for emergencies.** It never diagnoses.
