About Understand: save for later
Understand is a voice tutor that remembers what you actually grasp. This extension is its save button for the web.
See an article, a paper or a thread you want to learn from but don't have time for now? Click the Understand button, or press Alt+S (⌥S on a Mac). The page goes to your Saved list in Understand. Later, ask your tutor "what should I learn right now?" and it pitches one of the things you saved, gives you the gist in thirty seconds, skips what you already know, and teaches you the rest by talking it through with you. It can also read the piece aloud.
How it works
• Toolbar button or Alt+S: saves the page you are on.
• Prefer another key? The popup's "Change shortcut" opens Chrome's shortcut settings (chrome://extensions/shortcuts).
• Right-click a link → "Save link to Understand": saves a page without opening it.
• Right-click a page → "Save page to Understand".
• The page's readable text is sent along, so articles behind a login or a paywall you can read are saved as you see them.
• The popup tells you what happened: Saved, Couldn't save, or Not signed in.
Private by design
• The extension reads a page only when you press its button, its shortcut or its menu item. It does not run on pages otherwise and does not track your browsing.
• What you save goes to your own Understand account and nowhere else. Nothing is sold or used for advertising.
• Disconnect at any time from the popup.
You need an Understand account (free to start) at https://app.understandtutor.com. The first click opens a page that connects the extension to your account.
