About Typeglow
Subtitles too small? A font that looks wrong on your browser?
Typeglow helps you make Netflix and YouTube subtitles comfortable to read. Increase the size, choose a font you like, and add a translucent background so captions stand out in bright scenes.
Set a different font for each language, including Vietnamese and English. Use fonts available on your device or add your own font files. Automatic language matching runs locally; short or mixed-language captions can be misidentified.
Start with a preset, adjust it to your taste, and save your own. Netflix and YouTube keep separate settings. Pause styling on the current tab whenever you want to compare with the original captions.
I built Typeglow after subtitles looked wrong on one of my Netflix setups. The goal is simple: less squinting and adjusting, more watching.
Works with existing captions on Netflix and YouTube in desktop Chrome. It does not generate or translate subtitles and does not change Netflix's account-wide settings. Font availability and appearance depend on your device.
No Typeglow account, ads, or tracking inside the extension. Settings, custom fonts, and language detection stay on your device. Only add fonts you are licensed to use.
Typeglow is independent of Netflix and YouTube and is not affiliated with or endorsed by either platform.
