The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Trove — Social Media Studio & Archive
One photograph is never one file. It is a square for the feed, a 4:5 that takes
more of it, a 9:16 story, a 2:3 pin, a 16:9 thumbnail — and each one wants a
different part of the picture kept.
Trove is a studio for that, and it runs entirely inside your browser. Nothing is
uploaded. Nothing is stored on anybody's server. There is no account.
━━ THE STUDIO ━━
Drop a photo or a clip. Tick the placements you are posting to. Press Export.
• 43 placements across the eight networks Trove works on — each one sized from
that platform's own published spec sheet, organic placements only, with the
source cited for every number
• Crop by zoom and position, locked to each placement's own shape, so every
frame you can draw is one the file will actually have
• Rotate, mirror, and straighten a horizon by up to 15 degrees
• Twelve looks and fourteen sliders — exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows,
fade, saturation, vibrance, warmth, tint, sharpen, soft focus, vignette,
grain. Every look is rendered on your own picture, not a stock swatch
• Trim a clip, with a strip of its real frames to trim against
• Story and reel placements shade the margins Instagram's own interface covers,
so nothing important ends up under a caption
It tells you what a crop will cost before you commit to it — how much of the
frame goes, whether pixels have to be invented, what cannot work at all.
━━ WHY IT LOOKS BETTER THAN A CANVAS RESIZE ━━
Photos are resampled with a Lanczos kernel over a box-halved pyramid, not one
bilinear step from 4032px to 1080px. EXIF orientation is applied by the decoder
that does the work, so a portrait photo never comes out sideways. Where a
platform caps the file size — Pinterest at 20MB, a YouTube thumbnail at 2MB, a
Facebook page cover at 100KB — it encodes, measures and encodes again until it
actually fits, instead of handing you a quality slider and hoping.
Video is transcoded through your machine's own hardware H.264 encoder, and the
MP4 is rebuilt around it properly, with the metadata at the front so it starts
playing before it has finished downloading. A fifteen-minute reel costs no more
memory than a five-second one.
The preview is not an impression of the result. It is rendered by the same code
that writes the file.
━━ FREE, FOREVER ━━
• The whole Studio, on one file at a time — every placement, every look, every
slider, the crop, the trim, and video export
• A download button on every Instagram post, reel, story and grid tile, on every
Pinterest pin, and on X, Reddit, LinkedIn and Facebook. Pick from the
resolutions the site actually has and get the real file, not the thumbnail
• Carousels and multi-page pins save every item into a folder of their own
• Filenames carry the handle and the post id, so any file leads back to where it
came from without an index
• No limits, no watermarks, no ads, no account
━━ TROVE ARCHIVE — ONE-TIME PURCHASE ━━
Buy once; there is no subscription and it keeps working.
WORK ON THE WHOLE SET AT ONCE
Load as many photos and clips as you like. Pick the placements once. Ten photos
into four placements is forty files, in one run, filed one folder per photo.
Ten minutes of work instead of an afternoon.
PUT YOUR MARK ON IT
Stamp your logo onto every export — positioned on a nine-point grid and sized as
a share of each placement, so one setting fits a square post and a six-to-one
banner. Save the looks you have made your own and reuse them by name on
everything that follows.
EXPORT YOUR LIKED POSTS
Instagram's own data export gives you a folder of JSON nobody can read. Trove
collects your like history from Instagram's Activity Center and writes it as
CSV, JSON, JSON grouped by creator, or one file per creator in a ZIP. Filter by
creator, media type, date or keyword first. Usernames are resolved
automatically, so your export says "natgeo", not a numeric id.
SAVE A PROFILE'S STORIES
The live 24-hour reel, and its highlights if you ask — the half of an Instagram
profile that otherwise disappears. Frames are named by the moment they were
posted, which is the only thing that still orders them once the day is up.
SAVE A WHOLE PINTEREST BOARD
Open a board and save it in one run, at the size each pin actually has.
Carousels and idea pins keep every page. The run is paced, it can be stopped
between pins, and it tells you where it stopped.
DOWNLOAD MEMORY
Every file is recorded, so the same post or pin is never fetched twice. Export
that memory to keep beside your media, and import it after a reinstall.
━━ WHAT TROVE DELIBERATELY DOES NOT DO ━━
Trove will not download a profile's entire back catalogue. On Instagram that
feature was built and then removed; on Pinterest it was never offered. Saving
everything a person has ever posted or pinned is not what this is for, whatever
it would do for the install count.
A board is the exception, and a deliberate one: it is a collection somebody
assembled on purpose, and you save it by opening it and asking for it by name.
There is no way to point Trove at a person and take everything.
The two bulk runs — a story reel, and a board — ask before they touch anything
that is not yours. The notice explains that the content belongs to whoever
posted it, that copyright still applies, and that bulk downloading is against
the site's terms of use, and you have to agree on purpose. Those runs are also
paced more slowly than runs on your own account, and that pacing cannot be
turned down.
Please use this for your own archive, and respect the people whose work you
save.
━━ PRIVACY ━━
• No account, no server, no analytics, no ads
• Nothing you collect or download is uploaded anywhere — it stays in your
browser, and you can delete all of it at any time from the dashboard
• Requests go to the six supported sites and their media servers only, from
your own logged-in sessions, and only when you press something
• On LinkedIn and Facebook nothing is requested at all — everything the button
offers is read from…
