About TriageBox: Gmail Cleanup, Unsubscribe & Scam Checks

Clear Gmail without living in it. TriageBox is a Chrome popup for Gmail cleanup: triage unread mail, bulk-unsubscribe from newsletters and promotional senders, archive or delete by sender/domain/category with an exact live count, and run local scam checks—without camping in the full Gmail tab. Core triage needs no API key. There is no TriageBox mailbox server; working data stays in your browser. Optional AI summaries and scores use a key you bring—never required for the badge, sweeps, unsubscribe, or phishing signals. Most Gmail extensions only show what arrived. TriageBox does the work: group the pile, show the exact number Gmail will change, then archive, unsubscribe, file, or delete only after you confirm—with undo and a recently-removed path to restore. WHAT IT DOES • Popup triage: unread queue with Archive, Snooze, Open, label, mark read or unread, report spam, trash, reply and forward — plus an unread toolbar badge and desktop notices with quiet hours • Bulk unsubscribe and sweeps: unsubscribe by exact sender; group mail by sender, domain, subject family, category or age; preview the exact live count and estimated size before you archive, file or delete • Scam checks that run locally with no API key: Gmail sender-authentication results, reply address on another domain, dangerous attachment names, suspicious URL structures and sender-name mismatches — signals to review, not proof of fraud • Spam review: inspect loaded spam, rescue messages, unsubscribe where supported, and confirm what to move to Trash • Calendar agenda with a filter for event names, calendar names and locations; quick-add, edit or create events from mail • Mail follow-ups and waiting-for-reply tracking, with optional Chrome Sync for the follow-up list • Searchable settings, diagnostics, usage estimates and backup/restore controls • Help & feedback with an autosaved draft, redacted preview, optional diagnostics and searchable delivery history MAIL CONTROLS WITHOUT AN AI KEY The badge, mailbox actions, sweeps, normal unsubscribe methods, Calendar and header-based safety checks work without an AI key. Some senders require a manual unsubscribe step; accepting a request does not prove that a sender will stop mailing. Safety checks explain Gmail's sender authentication results, a reply address on another domain, potentially dangerous attachment names, suspicious URL structures and sender-name mismatches. They are signals to review, not proof of fraud. A sender can be cleared when a warning is wrong. REVIEW YOUR CHANGES • Bulk actions show their scope and exact counts before you apply them; starred or important mail can be protected • Archived mail remains in All Mail, and trash actions use Gmail's recoverable Trash • Undo records cover supported single actions and sweep jobs; a recently-removed path lets you restore what you removed • Estimates and partial counts are labelled; confirmed results distinguish completed, failed and skipped work • Rules and enabled background jobs can perform the actions you previously configured OPTIONAL AI, USING YOUR KEY Add a Gemini, xAI/Grok or OpenRouter API key for summaries, relevance scores, analysis, questions about a thread, reply drafts and other AI-assisted actions. OpenRouter lets you choose from the configured model routes; model availability and usage limits depend on your provider account. Summary preferences can tailor selected senders or domains. Saved summaries are reused when they still describe the current thread; stale results are identified. Model preference, actual answering model and fallback are shown, with local usage and estimated cost records. Email content needed for a request goes from your browser directly to the provider you configured. OpenRouter forwards requests to the selected model's serving provider. Enabled background rating and summarising also send the required content. AI can be wrong: review scores, summaries, dates, decisions and drafts before acting. PRIVACY AND SUPPORT • No developer mailbox proxy, behavioural analytics or advertising • Working caches and credentials stay in extension storage; follow-ups can use your Chrome Sync profile • Feedback is emailed from your connected Gmail account only when you press Send; your sender address is visible to the recipient • Public likes share an anonymous browser token and like/unlike state with the project support server, never Gmail identity, messages or API credentials • Donation links are separate from likes; no feature is unlocked by a contribution • Remote email images are blocked by default; changing that setting or loading them contacts their hosts • The full privacy policy describes these data flows REQUIREMENTS Desktop Chrome or a compatible Chromium browser, a Google account and Google OAuth consent. Optional AI features require a provider API key; a consumer chat subscription is separate from API access. Mailbox jobs pause when Chrome is closed. Account verification or reconnect prompts may depend on the Google consent state. INDEPENDENT TOOL TriageBox is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Google, and it is not a Google product. Gmail, Google Calendar, Google and Chrome are trademarks of Google LLC; xAI and Grok are trademarks of X.AI Corp. Bulk actions act on your own mailbox after review; AI output is assistive and can be wrong. Support: Options → Help & feedback, or the support email on this listing.
