About Trace — every copy keeps its receipt

Every citation tool asks you to stop reading and click its button. That click happens at the exact moment you're least likely to make it — so it doesn't happen, and three days later you're rebuilding a bibliography from your browser history at 11pm. Trace listens for the one thing you already do: copying. Select a passage, press Ctrl+C, and Trace has already recorded the source — author, publication, date, DOI — and written the citation. No icon to click. No form to fill in. WHAT YOU GET - Automatic capture the moment you copy - APA 7, MLA 9, Harvard and Chicago, switchable across your whole bibliography at once - Projects, so captures file themselves into the assignment you're working on - A bibliography you can paste straight into Word or Google Docs — italics and hanging indents intact - Receipts: a printable record of every passage, its source, and when you captured it. Save as PDF and hand it in. - Quote verification — re-check any quote against the live page before you submit or publish - Paste-side citations, optional: paste into Word and the reference comes with the text YOUR RESEARCH NEVER LEAVES YOUR COMPUTER Trace has no account, no sync, and no server. Everything it captures is stored in your browser, on your machine. It contains no analytics and no telemetry, and it will never use your bandwidth for anything. The only network request Trace ever makes is when you press Verify, and it fetches exactly one page: the one you're checking. PRICING Free while you finish your first project. After that a one-off $7 unlocks everything, permanently — no subscription, no tiers. Capture keeps working whether you pay or not; your sources are always yours. Built for students, journalists, researchers and anyone whose work has to hold up.
