The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Toast Cue
Watch YouTube. The subtitles are your flashcards.
Toast Cue turns a video’s subtitles into karaoke-style captions floating over the picture — drag them anywhere. Tap ✦ and AI explains each word’s reading, meaning and grammar; save the ones you like to a deck and review them in the phone app.
• Follows the video — Words light up as they’re said. Pause, skip or go full screen — the subtitles keep up.
• Wherever you like them — Drag the subtitles anywhere on the video and set the size, backing and colours.
• Lyrics for music videos — A music video without subtitles gets synced lyrics, and you can nudge the timing when the intro runs long.
• Analysed as you watch. Tap ✦ and AI marks every word’s reading, meaning, part of speech, phrases and grammar, with a translation of the whole line underneath.
Pay as you watch: about 1 token per 15 lines of a video, only as far as you watch; 10 tokens for a song. Parts someone already analysed are free.
• One click, and the word is yours. Click a word and the video pauses; tap “+ Word” to save it. The back of the card carries the video, starting at that line. Saving cards is a Premium feature (NT$60 / month, with 1,000 tokens every month).
Three steps.
1. Add to Chrome — Install Toast Cue from the Chrome Web Store.
2. Scan to sign in with the app — The same account as the phone app — Google or email work too.
3. Open YouTube — Play a video with subtitles and they float over the picture.
Are subtitles uploaded to your servers?
No. Subtitles and lyrics stay on your computer. Only when you turn AI analysis on are the lines being analysed sent for analysis; the result is kept so the next member watching the same part gets it free.
