Time to Read

What it does: The "Time to Read" Chrome extension quickly estimates how long it will take you to read the content on your current web page. It cleverly calculates this based on an average reading speed of 200 words per minute and displays the result as a small, unobtrusive notification directly on the page. This pop-up appears automatically when a new page finishes loading, when you switch to a different tab, or when you click the extension's icon in your browser toolbar. Why you should install it: Ever open an interesting article only to realize you don't have enough time to finish it? "Time to Read" solves this problem by giving you an upfront estimate of your reading commitment. This allows you to better manage your Browse time, deciding whether to dive in immediately, save the page for later, or skip it if you're short on time. The extension is designed to be helpful, not distracting; it even avoids showing the reading time on Google search results pages to keep your Browse experience clean. It's a simple tool to help you make informed decisions about the content you consume online.
