The Advisor Network

The Advisor Network is a side-panel assistant for college-access advisors at partner organizations. It reads the student record you already have open in a supported advising app and helps you prepare for, run, and wrap up a conversation with that student. What it does • Opens in Chrome's side panel next to your advising app. Sign in with your Advisor Network work account. • Works only in the apps you turn on: Mainstay, and our own Demo CRM, which holds only fictional students. Chrome asks you to allow each app when you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time. With no app turned on, the extension has no access to any website. • Summary and Prep: when you open a student's record, the assistant shows a short summary of where the student stands and prepares a briefing: what to talk about, suggested questions, and what is worth celebrating. • Ask: ask a question about this student, or about college access in general. Answers come in two parts, WHAT to tell the student and HOW to say it, with numbered links to the sources they draw on. • Session and wrap-up: take notes during a session, record action items, and save a session summary so your work carries over to the next conversation. • Built for privacy: it reads a defined set of advising fields, not the whole page. It reduces student names to first name and last initial and redacts phone numbers, email addresses, and Social Security numbers in free text before anything leaves the browser. It never changes the pages it reads, and it cannot see your other tabs or your browsing history. For Mainstay, your organization's workspace must also be approved by The Advisor Network before the extension reads it. Who it is for: staff of college-access programs who have an Advisor Network account. There is no public sign-up. Accounts are set up for each organization.
